Emilio Travieso, SJ, is a DPhil student based at Campion Hall; his research in the Oxford Department of International Development puts him in partnership with grassroots organizations that are building sustainable, healthy, and just food systems. His supervisor is Dr. Laura Rival.
Recently, Emilio successfully completed his degree, delivering a thesis entitled, "Reason to Hope: Economic, Social and Ecological Virtuous Circles in Chiapas, Mexico". His work involved extensive field work in Mexico and aimed at establishing a theoretical framework that combines agroecology, food sovereignty, and economic solidarity.
The Hall congratulates Emilio on his accomplishment!
