Newman Lecture 2019

Each year, the Newman Lecture is offered to the University by Oxford's three Catholic Permanent Private Halls: Campion Hall, St Benet's Hall, or Blackfriars Hall. 

This year, Blackfriars will host a lecture by the Rt. Hon. Ruth Kelly, Pro-Vice Chancellor at St Mary's University, Twickenham. Kelly was a Member of Parliament from 1997 - 2010 representing Bolton West and has held various ministerial and high-ranking government posts, including Secretary of State for Transport and for Communities and Local Government. 

Kelly's talk is entitled "Creating Change: Reflections on Government, Education, and Faith" 

The talk will take place on 8 May at 17:00 at the Taylor Institution (Lecture Hall). There will be a reception following at Blackfriars Hall. 

There is no charge to attend and the lecture is open to the public; however please register at admin@bfriars.ox.ac.uk
