On 10 November 2017 Hyacinthe Destivelle OP will deliver a talk on the state of Catholic-Orthodox relations in the age of Pope Francis. Destivelle is in charge of relations with the Slavic Orthodox churches at the Vatican's Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity. He was key in organising the historic Havana meeting between Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and Pope Francis.
Following Destivelle's remarks there will be a response by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware. Ware is a Metropolitan of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and one of the best-known contemporary Eastern Orthodox theologians. He has been an active participant of Orthodox-Anglican and Orthodox-Catholic dialogues and held the position of Spalding Lecturer of Eastern Orthodox Studies at the University of Oxford.
The talk will take place at 5:30pm at the University of Oxford Catholic Chaplaincy.
